01 Brief company history

Two retailers scaled fast in a market of 390,000 people.

The team took over Pizzan, a pizza chain founded in 1998, in 2016 and grew it from ISK 200 million to ISK 1.3 billion in four years. In 2023 it launched Smáríkið, an omnichannel alcohol and nicotine retailer now at ISK 5 billion a year. Swedn, founded in 2026, is the next step.

Swedn's first physical store will open in South Florida. We are asking for an inline unit in a premium Florida centre, supported by age gated ecommerce at swedn.com.

Further Florida centres follow once the first location is trading, proving demand first, the same way Smáríkið expanded.
